Green Hair Buddy Day!

On Monday, March 16, join us for special classes just for the students and a friend, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day: Green Hair Buddy Day! This will take place during our regular class hours:

PeeWees (4 – 6 y.o.): 5:00pm
Juniors (7 – 9 y.o.): 5:35pm & 6:10pm
Youth (10 – 12 y.o): 6:10pm & 6:50pm
Adult: (13+): 6:50pm

Every student is encouraged to bring a friend*. We will all work on our karate basics and our conditioning and best of all… HAVE FUN!

* Friends must register using the link below, in order to attend.

To be silly and fun, we’d like you all to wear some kind of green “hair”. Be fun, be creative, but please don’t use any hair coloring or sprays. And we’re going to work out outdoors, so buddies should wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes.

Parents’ Night Out: Fri. 12/19 & Parents’ Day Out Sun. 12/21

We’re thrilled to invite your kids to two fun events this month: Parents’ Night Out on Friday, December 19 – 6:00–9:00 PM and a special Parents’ Day Out on Sunday December 21 – 10:00am – 1:00pm. These events will be $45 and will include a snack.

These are going to be a fun, action-packed events filled with games, activities, and karate-inspired adventures! And we’ll watch a fun movie.

This event is open to everyone, so feel free to invite your friends and siblings to join in the fun.

Spots are limited, so we encourage you to register early to reserve your child’s place. We can’t wait to see everyone for a night full of laughter, learning, and excitement! Please bring a water bottle and a pillow/blanket.

Dojo Will be Closed For the Holiday Season: Wednesday, Dec. 24 – Friday, Jan. 2

The dojo will be closed a few days for the Holiday Season.

The dates we’ll be closed are:
Wednesday December 24 – Friday January 2, 2026.

Our normal class schedule resumes Monday January 5.

Dojo closures – Thanksgiving Thurs. Nov. 27 & Sat. Nov. 29

Turkey Day is nearly upon us! Did somebody say stuffing?! Mmm…

Considering everyone will be so full and enjoying time with their families and friends, the dojo will closed during the Thanksgiving Holiday.

No class on Thursday, November 27th or Saturday, November 29th. Our normal class schedule will resume on Monday, December 1st.

Be well, enjoy your time off and be ready to train hard when you get back.

Halloween – Buddy Day Event – Thurs. 10/30

Wear your costume to class (no masks that cover the face, please) on Thursday, October 30, and invite your buddies to join in on the fun! The more friends you invite, the bigger your chance to win a $50 gift card!  The person who brings the most number of buddies will win a $50 gift card.  And if those buddies sign up for our program, you will receive $50 off of your tuition for the following month.

Please share the link with your friends to sign the waiver prior to coming to the dojo.

Anti-Bullying/Self Defense Seminar

On October 17, we will be hosting a special session for students ages 10–15 at Kells Karate Academy. This event is free for all our dojo students, and you are welcome to invite a friend. Space is limited to 30 students, so please be sure to register early to secure your spot.

Since October is Anti-Bullying Awareness Month, this seminar will focus on the importance of recognizing, preventing, and responding to bullying. Our goal is to provide students with practical tools and strategies to stand up for themselves and others, promote kindness and respect, and spread awareness about the impact bullying can have on individuals and communities.

Super Summer Spectacular Series 2025 – 6/16 – 8/15

Summer is just about here and the fun is just heating up at Kells Karate Academy!

Our Super Summer Spectacular Series begins this week, June 16th, with weekly, monthly and end of Summer prizes for attendance in classes. This series runs until August 15th.

For those students that are new to the program: during the summer we try to have a little more FUN during the break from school!  Each time that you attend a karate class, your name will be entered into the drawing for weekly and monthly (family) prizes, such. 

Weekly prizes will be $10 gift certificates to local business (i.e. Dunkin Donuts, Rita’s, etc). Monthly prizes will be fun things, like family games, etc.

The more you come to class the more chances you have to win a prize. You can earn more entries if you take one of the Flat Instructors (download in the members resources page within ZenPlanner) on vacation with you and post on social media.  You can also earn an extra entry ticket by bringing a friend to class with you.

At the end of the summer, we will have a drawing for our Grand Prize!

Dads in the Dojo – Dads of our students train for FREE in the month of June*

Hey Dads! Did you know that many of our adult students started as parents that joined their kids in class? Would you like to learn a bit of karate and train with your student(s) during class? Are you ready for some fun and hard work?

I hope you answered “yes” to those questions, because we invite you to do just that… train with your student!

If you’re interested in joining your student in class, please contact Sei Shihan Karen (karen@kellskarate.com). She’ll get you signed up and having fun in no time!

Bring a yoga mat and some water and your best Dad energy! It’s going to be a great to have you in class!

No class during Memorial Day holiday – Saturday 5/24 – Monday 5/26

Everyone has been working hard this Spring and we are very proud of you! You have earned a break and we want give you a chance to enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend.

Thus, the dojo will be closed and no classes will be held from Saturday 5/24 – Monday 5/26. Our normal schedule will resume with classes on Tuesday 5/27. We’re looking forward to seeing you both at the outdoor classes and online.
