Due to the complexities involved in moving to our new dojo and a lack of venue availability, we need to postpone our annual Inter-dojo Children’s Karate Tournament until next year.
We are working on securing a venue for next year and look forward to holding an amazing and fun tournament in the Spring of 2020.
The dojo will be closed on Friday 4/19 for Good Friday. The regular schedule will resume on Saturday, 4/20.
We will NOT be moving the dojo to the new location today. We’re hoping to move tomorrow or this weekend.
Thus, we will hold classes Thursday 2/28 and Friday 3/1, at the regular time and at the Towson Merritt dojo. Click here for the current schedule.
Please check back here over the next few days so you can be informed of the move and when the new location and schedule will take effect.
Classes this Saturday at the White Marsh dojo will be on the original schedule. We hope to see you there.

Due to the weather and road conditions, the dojo will be closed on Monday 2/11. Please be careful out there.
Weather-permitting we’ll be back on our normal schedule on Tuesday.

As a sign of our appreciation of the families of our karate students, we’d like to give you and your family an opportunity to train with us.
Sign-up before the end of February and you and your family can train with us for two weeks… for FREE!* As an added bonus, you get a FREE uniform!
So call Jun Shihan Karen today to get started on your two weeks of FREE training!
*In order to qualify for this offer, your student must be a current member of Pamfilis Karate Academy.
Jun Shihan Karen will be at the dojo tonight, for those brave enough to head out in the weather and attend class. We will be practicing basics, kata and self-defense. But no fight class tonight!
Please use an abundance of caution and only head in if you feel like you can get here and back safely. We’ll keep you posted on any impact the weather might have on classes later in the week.
We will be hosting an Escrima Stick Seminar with Shihan Chris Santillo on Feb. 10 at the Towson Merritt.
This seminar will cover:

History of Escrima:
Escrima, also known as Arnis or Kali, is a fighting style originally developed by the native people of the Philippine Islands. They used simple impact weapons (like the Escrima sticks) and edged weapons (swords, daggers, spears, etc) and other assorted weapons for combat and self-defense. These weapons were sometimes used as farm implements. Using these weapons, the Philippine natives were able to repel armored and musket bearing conquistadors in 1521.
Instructor profile:
Shihan Chris Santillo
Shihan Chris has over 20 years training in Kempo Karate. He is the founder, president and headmaster of Potomac Kempo, which has 4 locations in Virginia. He is a 3rd level instructor of Kali and studies under Tuhon (Master) Apolo Ladra, who has over 40 years training in martial arts and is considered one of the foremost experts in Kali.
*You must have 2 escrima sticks to participate in this seminar. You can purchase them at the time of registration:
They must be ordered by Feb. 1 in order to arrive in time and can be picked up on the day of the event at the door. There will be a very limited supply available on the day of the event for $35.
We looking forward to seeing you at this seminar for an afternoon of fun learning Escrima Stick skills!
